SAFFIRE RESORTBRIEFFreycinet peninsular is one of Australia’s purest costal environments. Situated on an isolated, rugged and beautiful stretch of the Tasmanian East coast the peninsular consists predominantly of National Park and the township of Coles Bay. The brief to Point of View was to create a warm inviting atmosphere that could easily draw it’s guest into a relaxed state while maintaining the integrity of the surrounding landscape. Also pivotal to the brief was to preserve the night sky and unspoiled views from the township back towards the resort. Our job as lighting designers was to reflect the light and shade of the surrounding environment and to apply every light with thought and precession to limit stray light and energy wastage.
